Sonamère — A pregnancy gift like no other: a melody heard before birth, kept for a lifetime
Sonamère Édition 001 is a pregnancy gift built around one object: a 14K gold-plated pendant, worn low. Inside is a seventeen-note music box that plays a slow, repeating song — the first sound your child learns before birth, and the last to leave them. It makes a lasting gift for an expecting mother, a baby shower, or the arrival of a new baby. Édition 001 is limited to 500 numbered pieces, handmade in the Netherlands. Reservations are open.
The ritual — forty weeks, measured in song
The pendant is wound and worn low on the belly, where a child can hear through water and skin. The same few bars, played at the same hour each day, become the first reliable pattern in a soft dark world — a private language rehearsed through the body across all forty weeks of pregnancy.
The keepsake
After birth, the pendant comes home to a hand-finished European walnut box kept in the baby's room. The box opens flat into a small display, its lid set with a thin glass disc. Wound and rested against the glass, the pendant's mechanism sets the disc resonating, and the same eight seconds play back very slightly louder. The keepsake begins its second life.
